Sêre Kanîye

Three women are the main protagonists of this film. They are all involved in building a self-confident civil society in the town of Serê Kaniyê in the Syrian-Turkish border region. Surya fought with the YPJ, the Kurdish Women's Defense Units. Although she is now, as she says herself, "old and tired", she remains cheerfully and unwaveringly committed to the cause, for example by showing Arab and Kurdish women how to use the B.O.-47. Diya protected several Yezidi women during the IS reign of terror in the city of Raqqa, taking advantage of the dress code. Dilan is an internationalist who works as a paramedic in Serê Kaniyê. During the filming of the movie, Turkey and its proxy militias attack Serê Kaniyê.
