CTM Festival & silent green present

Since 1998, Greg Anderson and Stephen O'Malley have been raising their electric guitars as Sunn O))) and distilling the metal power chord into a primeval drone that completely devours rhythm and conventional form. Shrouded in fog and volume, their performances unfold as infernal baths of sound - both reverent and overwhelming in equal measure.

Now the duo returns with a new, self-titled album, their first long player for the legendary Sub Pop record label, also based in Seattle.

Reducing the project to its core, Anderson and O'Malley push guitar, bass and synthesizer to symphonic extremes. Recorded with forensic detail, the duo sent their seismic sounds out of the studio and re-recorded them across vast distances. Amplified and filtered by the landscape, the songs were created from well over a hundred guitar tracks simultaneously. The result is a hyper-distilled monolith of growling distortion, shimmering feedback and low-frequency pressure that fuses amplifier worship with the rumble of distant weather.

At this performance, Sunn O))) will present the new album in full.
