Vereine zu Gast im MiQua:forum: Der Rheinische Verein für Denkmalpflege und Landschaftsschutz (RVDL) und seine Aufgaben

In its 120 years of existence, the Rheinische Verein für Denkmalpflege und Landschaftsschutz (Rhineland Association for Monument Preservation and Landscape Conservation) has always been committed to the interests of monument preservation and landscape conservation in the Rhineland in a variety of ways. Its sphere of activity extends across four federal states from Kleve on the northern Lower Rhine, large parts of Rhineland-Palatinate and the Rheingau in Hesse to Saarbrücken in northern Saarland. He deals with the preservation of archaeological monuments, the restoration of his own castles such as Stahleck Castle in the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, the preservation of garden monuments, industrial culture and much more. Dr. Irkens provides an introduction to this diverse cosmos of the RVDL.

Since 2021, the RVDL has also been an authorized body. It is the first institution in Germany to extend this authorization to the protection of historical monuments. What does this mean in practice? Mr. Hamacher will explain the legal framework.
