Literaturklub: Gemischtes Doppel (1) mit Lisa Sommerfeldt und Thomas Möhlmann

The first edition of the new Mixed Doubles series brings together Bonn-based writer Lisa Sommerfeldt and Dutch poet Thomas Möhlmann. Lisa Sommerfeldt presents her debut novel schlaglichter (parasitenpresse), in which she weaves the stories of her protagonists into a dense novel in 22 stories. All of them are driven by longing, but often trapped in oppressive relationships. How can they free themselves from them? Or perhaps even achieve an understanding between the characters, whose different realities become visible in the novel through different linguistic worlds? At a time when cities are sinking and suburbs are burning, the writer cannot just stand on the sidelines in amazement. Thomas Möhlmann writes his way into a habitable and liveable future and draws support from a number of illustrious predecessors and contemporary sources of inspiration. Family, love, politics: everything that has value fights back. All of this can be found in his poetry collection Ich war ein Hund (parasitenpresse), translated by Stefan Wieczorek.

The Mixed Doubles series always brings together two different authors, one from Cologne or the region and one from outside the city.
