BEING IN THE WORLD accompanies a young woman on a two-month train journey through China, where she meets strangers from different walks of life and asks them about their dreams, life paths and decisions. These encounters result in a multi-layered portrait of everyday life in China. Ten years later, Qin Xiaoyue meets the same people again, traces their lives and thus opens up new perspectives.
