María Ángeles is deeply rooted in the Spanish quarter of Tangier. Her apartment in Calle Málaga - full of memories, flowers and antique treasures - is her pride and joy. She is in constant contact with the residents of the neighborhood and watches the hustle and bustle of the city from her balcony. When her daughter Clara wants to sell the apartment, everything starts to unravel. But instead of moving into a retirement home, María Ángeles puts up a fight. She fights for her home with wit, cunning and heart. And in the process, she discovers much more lust for life. Maryam Touzani turns a story that could quickly slip into the shallow if directed differently into an atmospheric and sensitive portrait of a woman who knows how to preserve the beautiful moments in life in a self-determined way. In addition to a fine feeling for the characters and their longings, the film is characterized by Touzani's typical view of delicious food, beautiful flowers and invigorating company, which not only make Maria Ángeles' life more colourful.
