In the heart of Hung Hom in Hong Kong, worlds collide: spiritual traditions, glittering skyscrapers and crumbling facades, wealth and abject poverty side by side. While some live in affluence, older people scavenge the garbage for usable scraps to earn a meagre wage. Made over a period of five years, the film condenses these observations into haunting snapshots of everyday life. Between nightly flea markets and recycling yards, a portrait emerges of a neighborhood in which waste becomes a livelihood and raises the question: What is actually still considered garbage here?
