While bicycle courier Lu is making the final preparations to receive his family from China in New York, his bicycle is stolen. With the imminent arrival of his wife and daughter, Lu is under pressure to secure his job and apartment and make a new home for his family. Lucky Lu is an impressive portrait of one of the countless migrants who make their way between the skyscrapers and street canyons of New York.

Lu, a food delivery driver, has his bike stolen just as his family is about to move over from China to New York to reunite with him. With his wife and daughter's arrival on the horizon, Lu needs to secure his job and an apartment to provide a new home to his loved ones.
