"Manntje, Manntje, Timpe Te, Buttje, Buttje in the sea" - with this famous cry begins a fairy tale that tells of modesty, greed and excess. One day, a bitterly poor fisherman catches a miraculous butt that speaks to him and asks for his life. Without hesitation, the fisherman releases the fish. But his wife sees this as a missed opportunity: her husband could have earned a reward. She urges him to return to the sea and ask the butt for a better home. At first, the request remains modest - a nicer hut. But as soon as this is fulfilled, dissatisfaction grows. New, bigger wishes follow and the fisherman has to go to the butt again and again. The excessiveness increases with each request and the mood changes. Every child knows that this cannot go well. But only the members of the STÜBAphilharmonie know what the mysterious Butt actually looks like and whether he can sing. They bring the well-known fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm to the arena stage as a lively puppet show - accompanied by lots of music that invites you to join in and sing along.
