The path is the goal. Confucius would probably not have wanted his wisdom to be found thousands of years later on postcards and Instagram quote tiles, in the PowerPoint of business workshops or as a wall tattoo in the kitchen - at least not like this. Even if the ancient teacher didn't mean it that way, there is much that is fruitful in our modern interpretation. The feeling of being on the move, searching and finding can have an amazing effect on your own personality. This is probably how it works for her too: a Canadian singer-songwriter takes these and those paths in her life with curiosity, confidence and joy.

Dominique Fils-Aimé from Montreal combines many things in her personality: her parents' Haitian roots, the rich African-American music culture, street art, joie de vivre, a strong sense of morality and helpfulness and much more. She is also very familiar with different paths: The musician studied fashion design, philosophy, photography, public relations and psychology, worked with autistic children and provided psychological support for employees in their professional lives. Each of these paths has made her the person she is today. And where is the music? Already there! Fils-Aimé has been surrounded by music since childhood - her professional commitment brought her even closer: work was often mentally draining and so music became a remedy and source of energy for her.

After successfully taking part in a TV talent show, the Canadian focused entirely on music and has released a total of five albums since 2018. There's a special feature you need to know: The albums each form a trilogy. Nameless (2018), Stay Tuned! (2019) and Three Little Words (2021) were created as the first trilogy and are dedicated to her African-American musical identity with blues, jazz and soul. The second trilogy enters new musical and personal worlds and starts with Our Roots Run Deep (2023). The second work of the new three-part trilogy has just been added: My World Is The Sun (2026) is an open look at the way forward, carried by music that leaves space. Their confidence in their own expression is paying off: Her albums are attracting international attention and have won multiple awards.

With a warm, expressive voice and great stylistic openness, Dominique Fils-Aimé combines different musical styles to create a very personal sound language. Her songs tell of freedom, connection and inner growth - subtly, poetically and with great musical elegance.
