Crafting is good for children! People agree on that. Crafting promotes creativity, imagination, fine motor skills, social skills and logical thinking. So why do we adults stop doing it? That's it for logical thinking.

But there are exceptions, for example a Viennese band called Buntspecht. They get it, they like to tinker. The six musicians in this indie chamber pop collective take pop music completely apart, add a few components from klezmer, gypsy swing, bossa nova, Viennese song and folk and put their DIY indie pop construction back together again with imagination, madness and unwavering sincerity.

And as complex as that may sound at first, it's quite the opposite: welcome to the world of Buntspecht! Unmistakably, this band presents a sound that is unique in its peculiarity! Their songs dance on the fine line between melancholic romanticism and euphoric ecstasy - sometimes tender and poetic, then again weird, wild and untamed. It is a music of radical beauty to which no label can be attached.

With their sixth album Konstrukt 5, the Viennese band has reached another milestone in their career and made it into the German charts for the first time. The work takes the experimental spirit of Buntspecht to new heights and is reminiscent of a creatively laid mosaic of emotions, sound colors and various stories - special, almost surreal and playful.

Fortunately, it all started in a garden shed at some point. Fortunately, the lively tinkering went on and on. And fortunately, Buntspecht's live performances are celebrated with a bang: uncompromisingly unique and with a colorful rebellion against uniform sound and arbitrariness.
