Adja

It is a special art when you can not only make music sound, but also tell a story. The Belgian-based singer and composer Adja has mastered this art. She can playfully move between neo-soul, jazz and experimental pop, while incorporating a special narrative skill. If you didn't know what her songs were about, this contrast could almost go unnoticed: The poetic euphony of her warm, charming voice meets sharp contours and unerring beats - a combination that both touches and resonates.

At the heart of her work are questions about power relations, projections, moral decisions and self-reflection. And now comes something extraordinary: the artist has designed four of her own tarot cards for the project. They are, so to speak, the visual addendum to her current album Golden Retrieve Her. The title already gives it away: with a critical eye, wordplay and a scoop of cynicism, the stereotypes of our time are being tidied up here. We can look forward to an artist who fuses socio-critical themes and her personal observations with a great deal of imagination, creativity and tangible closeness. Jazzy, soulful, unconventional.

Sorvina

The expressive narrative art continues, the soulful touch also remains - but from now on it spreads powerfully into hip-hop territory. Introducing Sorvina, a rapper from New York who now lives in Berlin: versatile, multi-layered and constantly on the move. Growing up in a small suburb, Sorvina first discovered her artistic voice in the country cosmos. You can do that. Over time, however, it was not only her music that developed, but also her self-image as an artist. How fortunate that at some point she dared to live out her hidden passion: Being a rapper.

It has paid off: Today, the artist moves naturally in this musical home, combining narrative talent with a keen sense of rhythm, flow and linguistic subtleties. Her trademark? Fantastic live performances full of energy and variation! It's almost as if you can feel a sequence of her life in constant motion during these concert minutes: Thrilling rap interludes touch on neo-soul and jazz and often culminate in exuberant jam sessions. "This is cool as fuck." is the comment under one of their music videos - you can only agree.
