Imagine how many computers from the 90s you would need to achieve the performance of a single smartphone from today: Depending on the model, it would easily be a million. Just posting a picture on Instagram would take many hours, or even several days with editing. These two gentlemen from Vienna can tell you a thing or two about it. Their work was once created using an old computer from the 90s. So it's no wonder that it took a good two to three months to complete a song. What an unimaginable feeling it must have been when a remix was finally finished - and could be saved to disk?

"Our tools of the trade are an Apple computer and three kilos of marijuana, then you have the sound in your head," was once their seemingly effortless recipe. Admittedly, they were a little deep there. Wine was definitely involved.

And even beyond that, their dance-electro work is probably more frickel and outstanding than the quote suggests. The Austrian DJ and producer duo Kruder & Dorfmeister are simply a number! It's not for nothing that remixes for Madonna, Depeche Mode, Lamb and Roni Size have reached the worldwide public. It's not for nothing that the popular duo tours the world and plays gigs in the USA, Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, Austria and Germany. Peter Kruder and Richard Dorfmeister are celebrated worldwide for their arrangements of trip-hop, electronica, downtempo, dub, electro-jazz, drum and bass and breakbeat.

And of course they celebrate this themselves. This year marks the 30th anniversary of K&D KICKS - not as a nostalgic look back, but as an energetic continuation. "The tour brings the DJ Kicks legacy of Kruder & Dorfmeister into the present - as a DJ/AV performance, characterized by references from their own musical universe and a future-oriented approach to sound and visuals," is the promising announcement.

So now they are coming to us: two living legends. Two musicians who don't need wallpaper in their studio, because ceiling-high shelves with a total of one hundred and sixty compartments and twenty times as many records adorn their walls. They still wipe the dust off their old equipment after thirty years, alongside the latest technology, and obviously have a heart for colorful sticky notes. And above all: they bring three decades of experience to the arena in its most active form with rhythm and flow.
