They are colorful and likeable, sometimes opulently ornate, sometimes deliberately laconic. Normal - and yet anything but. They remain true to themselves and reinvent themselves, joke about the small nonsense of everyday life and become thoughtful in the face of the great madness of our time.

But above all, they are one thing: a couple of friends who have known each other since their childhood days in Berlin, who took their first steps as a band back in their school days and at some point, on the threshold of adulthood, were faced with the crucial question: Will it work?

We know the answer. It became something. Von Wegen Lisbeth - a name without a profound meaning, a band with all the more essence.

It's a good thing that the five musicians and friends are currently delivering their fourth studio album and that Jena will soon be able to experience it up close. By the way: they love coming to Jena - there are different theories as to why. But back to the essentials: Their new record Strandbad Eldena has recently thrilled the VWL fan community and seems like a natural next step. The band's creative bond has audibly intensified, the songs seem mature without losing their lightness. In terms of content, the album revolves around the search for orientation, new perspectives and an escape from everyday life - somewhere between longing, reality and the prospect of an honest place of refuge. There is probably no answer to everything, but there is something to be said for brooding together: "Because what else can you hold on to these days when the world tears the ground from under your feet almost daily with new crisis reports and a state of emergency is the new normality?" Von Wegen Lisbeth asks, and not without good reason.

We are looking forward to the band's fourth visit, their fourth album, a fourth time of good conversations and the best indie pop and indie rock - catchy, clever and sometimes with a wink.
